Returning for a second season is the Chico Enterprise-Record’s Northern Section football rankings. The Pleasant Valley Vikings began as preseason favorites last season, and despite falling in the rankings during non-league play, finished as the No. 1 seed at the end.

After one game this season and now coming off a bye week, the Vikings see their names atop the rankings once more.

PV’s cross-town rival Chico High has gotten off to a quick start as well with two straight wins, and look to bounce back from a disappointing 2024 season.

Injuries are already occurring and are influencing teams’ ratings such as Orland, and teams like Corning are making themselves known in hopes of getting their name in the top-5 of next week.
