SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) has prepared a 2025 emergency evacuation plan to help you; your family and your pets leave Chatham County safely.

In the past, CEMA would provide transportation to a shelter in Augusta, but for the past 2 years they moved the shelter to Macon.

"What we do with local transportation assets is that the CAT will run their normal bus routes," Director of Chatham County Emergency Management Agency Dennis Jones said. "They'll pick up people who want to go to the evacuation assembly area, which is slated for the Enmarket arena. There they will be categorized and put onto a bus and evacuated out of Chatham County."
