FARLEY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Missouri highway has reopened after a man was taken into custody for firing a gun during a mental health crisis.

The Platte County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office says that around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, emergency crews were called to the area of 45 Highway and Baker Rd. with reports of a disturbance.

Investigators noted that the caller requested deputies check the welfare of a man who was sitting in the northbound lane of the highway. He had been sitting beside a black sedan with its hazard lights flashing.

While on the way, deputies said they were told the man started to try and flag down other drivers, stop vehicles and possibly climb into other cars. They were also told a shot was fired before they arrived.
