Help has arrived, and Abundant Harvest will remain open through 2025, continuing to serve the community with food giveaways and community meals. Abundant Harvest, a community food bank and kitchen, announced last week it would close on Oct. 1 or when its current supplies were depleted. Today, it was announced that meals would continue to be served.

“Abundant Harvest, a longtime provider of meals and food support in Emporia, will continue operations through the end of 2025 thanks to support from the City of Emporia and United Way of the Flint Hills,” Daphne Reed Mertens, Executive Director of United Way of the Flint Hills, said.
