The Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) has announced the makeup of its search committee for the next Emporia State University President.

25 members were confirmed on the search committee. 7 members are current ESU faculty and staff members, three are ESU students, and twelve members are either ESU alumni or community leaders. Jim Kessler has been named as the ESU Presidential Search Committee Chair.

The members will be tasked with determining finalists to head before KBOR to be considered as ESU's potential next President. Ken Hush, outgoing ESU President, announced his retirement in late July.

Notable names include Erren Harter, Emporia City Commissioner and Mayor of Emporia, Doug Peck, Lyon County Commissioner, and Cathy Pimple, Newman Regional Health CEO. Jeff Longbine, owner of Longbine
