The Emporia City Commission moved forward with funding of the Overlander Road project and Overlander improvements during its Wednesday morning session. City Commissioners approved financing the project, as well as awarding the asphalt bid to Killough Construction for $4,185,565.95.
$2.5 million will be funded from the Economic Development Program from the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). $1 million will be financed from the City Federal Fund dollars from KDOT, while the remaining balance will be from a city bond issuance.
