LACASSINE, La. (KPLC) - Louisiana State Police have learned more about the vehicle suspected of hitting and killing a missing Jennings woman back in August.

LSP believes the vehicle that hit and killed 53-year-old Bonnie Fontenot may be a green or turquoise pickup truck or SUV with possible damage to the front end or driver’s side.

Investigative leads suggest the vehicle may frequent Iowa or U.S. 165 in Jeff Davis Parish, LSP spokesperson Peggy Bourque said.

On Aug. 27, Fontenot was found dead in the median between I-10 and Frontage Road just east of U.S. 165. She was last seen the night of Aug. 22 at the Lost Shoes RV Park near Lacassine.

State police said an unknown vehicle traveling on the frontage road hit Fontenot and drove away. Fontenot died at the scene.
