FARGO — September is Suicide Prevention Month, and health experts say one of the best ways to save lives is by simply starting a conversation.

But that conversation doesn’t just happen in a therapist’s office. It can begin in unexpected places, including the exam room during a routine check-up.

"Oftentimes people who maybe wouldn't have considered therapy in the past feel comfortable because the physician that they trust make a recommendation," said Laura Bohan, integrated health therapist at Sanford.
