ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Rain showers and some thunderstorms are on the way as a cold front crosses over the region. Some of those storms could have gusty winds and frequent lightning. There may be some torrential downpours as well. Temperatures find themselves in the lower 70s before the front crosses overhead and numbers tumble back into the 60s.

Skies clear out overnight into Friday and it will be a gorgeous finish to the work week. There will be another boundary that approaches and brings rain showers to parts of New York State. The tricky part is figuring out exactly where that line of showers sets up. It will likely favor the I-81 corridor, but the western edge may brush Rochester Saturday.
