WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Collegiate Spartans are a young team with plenty of new faces hitting the field this season.

With head coach Troy Black's group celebrating an 8-2 record and a successful run in the AVCTL last year, the team is looking to take a major step forward. In doing so, they will face some challenges. The Spartans bring back just one guy on defense with five returners on offense.

The team is strong at the skill positions with wide receivers Sebastian Hinesturner, AJ Batiste, and Jaden Parker. Junior quarterback Landon Langston also returns for another season under center, with the team choosing to focus on its strong leadership.
