The April Varner Band is featured at Thursday night’s Jazz in the Garden series at Toledo Botanical Garden, 5403 Elmer Dr., Toledo, sponsored by Metroparks Toledo.

Cost is $10 for park district non-members and $5 for members. No reservations are required.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 6:30 p.m. Cash only at the gate. Food trucks will be on site. Kids ages 12 and under are admitted free of charge. Bring a chair or blanket. Parking is at the Bancroft Street entrance; parking near the Elmer Drive entrance is for patrons with disabilities.

Varner is a New York-based jazz vocalist who was named the 2025 Rising Star Female Vocalist of the Year in Downbeat magazine’s 73rd annual critic’s poll. She is a Toledo native who won the 2023 International Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Voca
