WILLIAMSPORT — A threatening phone call directed at an employee of a suburban Williamsport school district resulted in the early dismissal on Wednesday of middle and high school students.
The morning call to the middle school resulted in the secondary campus going on immediate lockdown with state police notified, Loyalsock Twp. ownshipchool Superintendent Gerald McLaughlin said.
Out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to allow parents to pick up their high and middle school children beginning at 1 p.m., he said.
Parents were required to stay in their vehicles and to produce identification before they were permitted to pick up their children. Township fire police assisted with traffic control.
