The WJZ First Alert Weather Team has issued First Alert Weather Days for Thursday and Saturday due to the risk of severe weather.

Storms diminish Thursday evening

Scattered showers and storms have been impacted central Maryland through much of the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms are still roaming through the area. The chance of rain is gradually diminishing. Only isolated storms are expected west of the bay through the rest of the evening. Plan on scattered downpours across the Eastern Shore, until around sunset.

A couple storms could still become severe and produce damaging wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph. The risk of severe weather quickly winds down after 7 p.m. Drier weather returns overnight.
