ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - As U.S. senators prepare to question Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Thursday, healthcare workers at the Atlanta-based CDC are calling on him to resign.
A rally led by Sen. Jon Ossoff is set to begin in Washington, D.C., just hours before Kennedy’s Senate hearing. Alongside lawmakers, many former CDC employees are expected to be represented.
That rally comes on the heels of a petition signed by more than 1,000 public health workers demanding Kennedy’s removal from HHS.
In the letter, employees accuse him of “compromising the health of the nation” and putting Americans “at risk.”
