ANN ARBOR, MI – Local law enforcement is warning drivers to take caution and abide by posted traffic regulations after an Ann Arbor police vehicle camera captured a car run a stop sign in the city’s downtown.

The encounter, at Ann Street and Fourth Avenue on Tuesday, Sept. 2, was slow and no collision occurred.

But in a post on its Facebook page Wednesday , the Ann Arbor Police Department shared a simple message: A “stop sign means STOP.”

“A driver blew through a stop sign while police and fire vehicles were already in the intersection,” the department wrote. “Thankfully, no one was hurt, but this kind of dangerous driving puts everyone at risk: Pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and even the person behind the wheel.”
