JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) — The Jasper County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) arrested a man Wednesday following a high-speed pursuit in the Gillisonville area.

Deputies arrested 44-yerar-old Michael Lamark Simmons after he failed to comply during a traffic stop and hit a law enforcement vehicle during the pursuit.

Simmons was charged with driving under suspension (license suspended for DUI - 3rd offense), failure to stop for a blue light, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature as well as several additional traffic violations.

Deputies also discovered Simmons has an outstanding warrant with another jurisdiction.

Simmons was safely apprehended after the pursuit without further incident.
