One man is dead after being killed instantly during a forklift accident that took place in downtown Erie.
The man's identity has not been released, but Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook told the Times-News that the 44-year-old was pronounced dead at 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 4.
The incident took place at 12:55 p.m. when the man was operating a forklift and fell off a loading platform outside of First Line Coatings located at the 900 block of West 12th Street. The man was killed instantly from the fall.

The City of Erie Fire Department, along with Cook and other officials were on scene on Thursday afternoon.
