CHAPEL HILL — UNC football coach Bill Belichick isn't ready to name a starting quarterback for the Tar Heels' road game at Charlotte on Saturday, Sept. 6 (7 p.m., ESPN+ ).
"We'll see how it goes," Belichick said during a press conference on Sept. 3 inside the Kenan Football Center. "We haven't practiced yet this week, so we'll see what things look like today when we get out there."
Week 1 starter Gio Lopez exited UNC's loss to TCU with an injury and Max Johnson replaced Lopez late in the third quarter of the season opener. Belichick spoke with Gio earlier Wednesday and relayed a positive message.
"He's doing pretty good," Belichick said.
