The Kirkland Lake OPP have charged an Azilda man after a drunk driver crashed into garbage cans, damaging a fence and a home there in the process.

In a release, the OPP said that officers were called on Aug. 12 around 10:45 p.m.

Police said the driver of a pickup truck crashed into garbage cans, damaging a house and fence on Federal Street in Kirkland Lake.

“The vehicle initially failed to stop to emergency lights, (but) a short time later, a traffic stop was conducted on Goodfish Road, police said. “Officers determined the driver had consumed alcoholic beverages and the driver was arrested and transported to the Kirkland Lake OPP detachment for further testing.”
