At 3:52 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 5 p.m. for Lewis and Oswego counties.
The storms may bring wind gusts of up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches).
"At 3:52 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Central Square, or 10 miles northeast of Baldwinsville, moving northeast at 40 mph," comments the weather service. "Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees."
Locations impacted by the warning include Central Square, Redfield, Brewerton, Hastings, Constantia, West Monroe, Williamstown, Parish, Altmar and Osceola. This includes Interstate 81 between exits 32 and 33.
