STATEWIDE — Two more health care providers in Central Maine have announced they will be closing in the coming months, adding more pressure to an already strained system.

Manchester Care Center and Aurora Health Care both confirmed they will be permanently closing their doors.

Aurora Health Care , a primary care doctor’s office on Main Street in Fairfield, posted a statement on its website and answering service announcing the closure.

“We have had to make a very difficult decision today due to these changing times,” said Dr. Dawn Levasseur on Thursday morning’s answering service. “It is with a heavy heart that we must announce we have decided to close our practice effective Dec. 1, 2025.”
