OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - South Omaha is mourning the loss of a well-known community leader.

66-year-old Francisco ‘Paco’ Fuentes recently passed away.

His family told First Alert 6 that his memory will live on through how he gave back to the South Omaha community.

“He was so proud of the commitment he made for his community,” Virginia Fuentes-Richardson said.

It’s those words that help paint the picture of who Paco Fuentes was.

“He was turned into the best dad, the best son, the best father, the best grandfather, and to me the best uncle,” Phillip Bailey, nephew of Paco, said.

Loves ones and others who knew him gathered at his home Thursday to somberly remember his life.
