As a leader, Marcy Morrison wasn't all charisma. Soft-spoken and unassuming, she carried a presence that those who remember her say could just get things done.

"She just had so many passions and she made things happen," said Manitou Springs City Councilwoman and mayoral candidate Natalie Johnson, remembering the former El Paso County legislator who died at age 90 on Friday morning.

Often the first woman to be elected to the positions she held over the decades, Morrison was never one to go with the crowd.
