The long wait is finally over. High school football is back in Lafayette Parish and its surrounding areas and the hype surrounding the 337 couldn’t be any bigger.
After a long off-season, scrimmages and jamborees, teams in the area will finally be put to the test — kicking off Week 1 of the 2025 football season in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association. Superdome dreams have been forming since the end of last season and teams will have a chance to make them reality.
Stars will be born on the gridiron this season as powerhouse programs will duke it out in non-District play itching to give prep fans a show under the Friday Night Lights. For eight area teams, all the excitement starts Thursday while the remaining teams will take the mainstage Friday.
