Michigan State will debut a new uniform combination for its rematch against Boston College.
For the first time, the Spartans will go with white helmets that now feature a black logo and stripe, black jerseys and white pants for Saturday’s game (7:30 p.m., NBC) against the Eagles.
Michigan State unveiled all-black uniforms for the first time in 2023 and they’ve been worn twice – both at home – with disastrous results. They were debuted in a 49-0 loss against archrival Michigan that season – the most lopsided defeat in a century at Spartan Stadium. A second attempt also failed when they were worn in a 47-10 defeat against Indiana last season.
Although the black jerseys are back, they’re being used differently this time around.
