There have been rumours of staff voluntarily quitting ACT Corrective Services amid speculation they were supplying contraband, a correctional officer has told an inquest.
At one stage during his cross-examination, the officer was left momentarily stunned when asked if he should've been "more careful" with certain items he handed to an inmate just days before his fatal overdose.
On Thursday, Kieran Ginges, counsel assisting the ACT Coroner, Ken Archer, in the inquest into Aubrey Agostino's death, questioned correctional officer Isaac Kirkby.
The court previously heard Agostino, 34, most likely died from a drug overdose , "namely heroin and methamphetamine", in a cell in Alexander Maconochie Centre's (AMC) Remand Unit 1.
