Michigan will see strong, southerly winds with gusts as high as 50 mph Friday morning as a low pressure system settles over the region.
The region will see a brief warmup before temperatures trend below normal for the weekend.
Winds will gain strength Friday and move west-southwest by late morning over the southern half of the region with gusts between 25-35 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Gusts in the Lower Peninsula could reach 50 mph.
Winds are expected to weaken by evening as a low pressure system moves into northern Quebec, Canada. A few showers are possible during the day, especially for the Tri-Cities and Thumb areas, with isolated to scattered showers Saturday night into Sunday.
