A student flats plan for a “significantly under-utilised" Leicester office block is set to be decided. St Johns House, near Leicester Railway Station , looks set to be converted into 142 student bedspaces.

Developer Torsion Ltd said the 1970s East Street building has been under-utilised "for some time”, while their plan looks to create 114 studio flats and seven cluster flats with 28 bedrooms between them in the 11-storey block. The ground floor undercroft would also be infilled to create a new entrance and additional communal space.
