Americas used a strong second half to defeat Hanks , 31-28, on Thursday night at Hanks High School.

The Trailblazers trailed, 14-10, at halftime but scored the first 14 points of the second half and never trailed again. The Trailblazers avenged a one-point loss to the Knights last season.

Americas is 2-0 this season and plays Pebble Hills on Friday, Sept. 5. Hanks is 1-1 and is off next week.

The Trailblazers, which beat Coronado in their season opener, are ranked No. 9 in this week's El Paso Times' Top 10 high school football rankings.
