SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Consumers in the United States are facing higher costs for imported goods following the removal of the De Minimis tariff exception last Friday.

The De Minimis exception, which allowed packages valued at $800 or less to enter the U.S. without tariffs, was ended by an executive order signed by President Trump two months ago. This change has led to increased prices on many common consumer goods.

"Usually, it's like 25 per t-shirt. So, if I'm getting like four shirts, then I shouldn't have to be paying a tariff on top of that," said Jordan Dinkens, who frequently shops for clothes online.

"The only thing I've really noticed from the increase is on our record players and some of the speakers that we order through our distributor," said Dillon Kaasa, an employee at Stick It
