An American woman living in Australia has revealed the very common Australian phrase that has left her feeling “gross”.
Grace Harris, who recently moved from Nashville to Queensland, said she struggles with understanding one everyday Aussie turn of phrase.
"Goint to the toilet" has left her puzzled, with Grace claiming Americans would use "bathroom" or "restroom" instead.
“Toilet just sounds so gross. Have some manners,” Harris said in a TikTok video.
Her comments struck up a debate in the comments section with Aussies quick to defend the local terminology.
“Toilet isn't Aussie slang, that's just what it is,” one said.
“It's not a bathroom either because there's no bath or shower in most public toilets,” another said.
