ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - This week we are honoring one Menard Eagle who is flying high this season, cheering on his team.

“Every time with him is a story,” said Connor Lacombe, Michael’s father. ”Just every memory. And every time I was with him, just something better would happen.”

Michael Laborde, a rising sophomore student athlete at Holy Savior Menard High School, tragically passed away this summer.

“It was the 4th of July,” said Michael’s mother Stephanie Laborde. ”We had a wonderful family barbecue. Our immediate family and my parents and my brother and nephew. And we sat around talking football and eating and having a great time. They watched the Boston Pops on TV and Michael had a seizure playing video games with his cousin.”
