The country’s disability minister has admitted long waits for autism and ADHD diagnoses will ‘not be fixed overnight’ as ‘training doctors takes time’.

Waiting lists for ADHD tests and diagnoses have long been rising across the country.

In 2023, leaders of ADHD UK, a major charity campaigning about the condition, published Freedom of Information figures revealing there were 2.6 million people with ADHD in the UK, and waiting lists for adults ranged from 12 weeks to 10.5 years and those for children from five weeks to five years.
