Senator Alex Antic has ripped into the Greens for their hypocrisy, after Greens Senator Nick McKim this week called the Australian flag a "prop".

McKim made the comments on Wednesday following Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price draping the Australian flag across her shoulders in the Senate chamber in a speech to commemorate 124 years since the Australian flag was first flown.

Senator Antic, in an appearance on The World According To Rowan Dean on Friday, said that the Greens are "the political party that spends most of its days in there with one ... of them carrying a prop in there", and that he was "shocked" to see the Greens treat the flag as a prop too far.
