TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Tucson is gearing up for a new affordable housing project near 22nd Street and 10th Avenue.

The city plans to transform six parcels into 300 to 400 affordable housing units.

The initial phase involves infrastructure work, including constructing a bridge over the Downtown Airport Wash and a shared-use path connecting to Downtown Tucson.

Tucson is preparing to submit a request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for community project funding on September 16.
