Heritage used strong pitching and timely hitting Tuesday night to top Flint River Academy 6–2, but the Hawks couldn’t hold on Thursday in a 9–6 loss to Central Fellowship Christian Academy.

Freshman pitcher Kaelynn Sweger powered the Hawks past Flint River, striking out 11 and scattering four hits in a complete-game performance. At the plate, she reached base in all four appearances, doubled once, and stole two bases for her third straight multi-steal game.

Heritage broke open a close contest with four runs in the fifth inning. Kaylee Cotten went 3-for-3 with an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored, while Abby Dunlap added a hit and crossed the plate twice. The win extended Heritage’s streak to nine straight over Flint River.
