LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KOLO) - A man from El Salvador has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for illegally reentering the U.S.

David Cristales-Machado will serve three years of parole after his release.

The DOJ says that Machado was found in Clark County after being arrested and convicted of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit in October of 2024, and again in January of this year.

Machado was first deported to El Salvador in 2014 after serving a prison sentence for attempted possession of a motor vehicle and attempted burglary.

He pleaded guilty to one count of being a deported alien found living in the United States. After Machado serves his sentence, he will be deported to El Salvador.
