It has been a humid and sticky summer in southeast Louisiana, but a small reprieve is on the way.
A cool front is expected to move over New Orleans, Baton Rouge and the Mississippi Coast Saturday and pass through by Sunday morning, WDSU meteorologist Derek Sibley said Friday. When the front passes, expect a drier heat Monday and Tuesday, forecasters said.
"No, they aren’t bringing a fall chill just yet but they are making it bearable," WVUE-Fox 8 Meteorologist Zack Fradella said.
On Monday and Tuesday, humidity could fall between 30 or 40% with a lower dew point, Kevin Gilmore, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service New Orleans said.
"It will be nice and refreshing. you'll notice a real difference compared to the last few months," Gilmore said. "It'll be a peek at fall."
