HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Today will be a well below average day as cool, Canadian air settles in today and tonight. Then comes a beautiful weekend, ahead of a return to more summer-like conditions next week.

Our Friday is starting with clouds and some spotty light rain/sprinkles over Southern Nebraska and Northern Kansas. There’s more sunshine in the north and northeast. The spotty light rain will gradually move on this morning as it shifts south. The clouds may be a bit more stubborn to clear out. The farther south and southwest you go, the tougher it will be for skies to become mostly sunny. North of I-80, I expect a lot more sunshine. Northeastern areas will see a field of cumulus clouds develop by this afternoon. High temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 60s. Winds will be a l
