SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – Severe weather struck parts of Central New York on Thursday September 4, and one tornado is now confirmed to have touched down near the Town of Ava in Northern Oneida County.
According to the survey team from the National Weather Service office in Binghamton, Thursday evening's tornado has been rated as an EF0 with winds of up to 80 miles per hour.
The path of the tornado appears to have been up to two miles in length.
The storm was responsible for bringing a tree down onto a house in Ava.
Thursday's tornado is the sixth in New York State this year, and the third in Oneida County alone.
