GREELEY, Colo. (KKTV) - A Weld County jury convicted a former high school girls’ basketball coach of sexually assaulting several girls.

According to the 19th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, the case began after a Safe2Tell tip in 2021 claimed that George Sagner, 33, had an inappropriate relationship with one of his players.

The investigation revealed that Sagner had sexual relationships with at least three of his players throughout the past decade, one of which the DA says lasted more than two years.

The DA said Sagner would also sometimes provide the victims with alcohol and marijuana before sexually assaulting them.

He was found guilty of the following charges:

Three counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust as part of a pattern of abuse,
