JERRY JONES' past comments aged poorly for himself and the Dallas Cowboys just seconds into their Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles defeated the Cowboys , 24-20, in the NFL 's season-opener on Thursday night.

Following the blockbuster Micah Parsons trade last week, the 82-year-old Jones held a press conference.

During the conference, the longtime Cowboys owner defended his decision to trade Parsons to the Packers while receiving defensive tackle Kenny Clark in the deal.

Jones stated that "we have to stop the run" when it comes to the defense's priority for the 2025 season , seemingly indicating that Parsons didn't do a good enough job in that department.
