NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (WOIO) - U.S. Marshals in New Orleans arrested an Akron man on Friday who had been on the run since 2013.

According to a release, Shawn Brooks, 37, was wanted in Florida and Ohio.

In 2013, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for 15 counts of sexually related offenses involving minors.

Two years later, in 2015, the Summit County Sheriff’s Department issued a warrant for pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, importuning, and disseminating material harmful to a juvenile, a total of 11 counts.

Marshals said the case was difficult as Brooks had stolen identities over the years while on the run.

Investigators determined that Brooks was in Louisiana, hiding with his girlfriend.
