SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Union College is investing a $1 million gift from two alumni into transforming Messa Rink into an indoor-turf facility. The Achilles Center, which is being renamed to the Brooks Field at Achilles Center, is expected to be completed in January 2026.

The college said the new facility will provide coaches more flexibility in scheduling team practices, decrease off-campus practices during the winter, and cut back early morning and late night practices for student athletes.
