A Spirit Airlines flight traveling to Chicago was forced to return to the San Juan Airport "due to a disruptive passenger" who is now banned from all of the airline's flights.

The airline said Spirit Airlines Flight 2081, headed to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport Tuesday, returned to Puerto Rico shortly after departing.

Details on what the "disruptive passenger" was doing weren't immediately released, but Spirit noted that crew members "took steps to separate the passenger from the other guests."

The passenger was met at the gate by law enforcement, who ultimately removed him from the flight, the airline said.
