EUGENE, OR — With his team trailing 14-0 just three minutes into the game, Gretna High School offensive coordinator Riley Gross began looking for his sophomore quarterback in case he needed a quick pep talk.
But when Gross spotted his quarterback, young Zane Flores was the one giving pep talks.
“Zane was walking up and down the sideline, tapping guys on the helmet and saying, ‘We’re fine. Next play,’” Gross told The Oklahoman . “Then he threw two touchdown passes on the next two possessions.”
