An amendment to a Joplin ordinance that specifies how dangerous building cases are to be handled by the city has been advanced for final consideration by the Joplin City Council.
The amendment would change the ordinance to better reflect current practices of city officials in referring cases to the city's Building Board of Appeals. That board handles cases involving dangerous properties or owners who need prodding to do repairs. ×
