Nobody was injured in a dramatic crash on the TCH near the exit to Port Blandford, which unfolded in phases and resulted in the closure of the highway.

The accident happened just after 9 p.m. Thursday when a tractor-trailer struck and killed a moose.

Three eastbound pickup trucks further collided with the remains of the animal. One of those vehicles overturned, landing on its side down an embankment.

Clarenville RCMP, the Port Blandford Volunteer Fire Department and medical personnel responded to the incident.
