NEW YORK (PIX11) – A 15-year-old autistic boy was fatally struck by a vehicle on the Southern State Parkway on Long Island on Thursday, police said.

Officials announced on Friday that 15-year-old Christopher Williams, of St. Albans, N.Y., was the victim hit by a car on the highway near exit 13.

Williams was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. He was later pronounced dead, police said.

A GoFundMe has been started to help the victim’s family with funeral expenses.

“Our world was shattered when my brother, who had autism, went missing from school.
