Port Moody police have reviewed surveillance footage that shows someone at a barber shop around the time a fire started on Wednesday morning, leading investigators to determine the fire was the result of arson.
The fire, which began around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, was contained to two businesses, Manny’s Barber Shop and Dynamic Mortgages, located in a strip mall in the 2900-block St. Johns Street.
According to Const. Sam Zacharias, investigators have reviewed surveillance footage from the strip mall and surrounding area that shows what appears to be an individual at the site of the fire.
The “intended target” of the arson has refused to co-operate with police so far which “adds a level of complexity to this investigation,” Zacharias told Postmedia on Friday.
